THE PSAA BARBARA GOSS SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship to be awarded to applicant meeting the following eligibility requirements: 1. Any archer is eligible to apply, providing he/she has been accepted to a two year or four year university, college, or trade school. In the event an acceptance letter has not been received by application date, proof of application to said school will be accepted provided the proof of acceptance is received prior to the release of scholarship funds. 2. Applicants must be current members in good standing of the PSAA. Applicants must have participated in at least two Regional shoots and two State shoots for two years preceding the year in which the scholarship is awarded. Interested candidates must file a completed scholarship application with the PSAA Executive Secretary to be posted marked no later than February 24th of the year in which the scholarship is awarded. Applications are available by contacting the office via phone or email. Items to be included with the application: 1. Acceptance letter from University, College or Trade school. (If acceptance letter has not been received see number 1 above.) 2. Documentation of attendance at required shoots. (Ex. Score cards, or verification from host club at said regional shoot.) Selection of scholarship recipient will be done at the March meeting of the PSAA Board of Governors. Recipient will be contacted following the meeting in March. All scholarships will be awarded at the PSAA State Indoor Championship shoot annually, if funds permit. Scholarship funds will be sent directly to recipient's chosen university, college, or trade school. Recipient is required to provide all necessary information to the PSAA office to where the award is to be sent. This will include student identification number, and tuition billing address at said school. Policy Governing the Scholarship
1. Your scholarship funds must be used for education
purposes at any accredited university or college.
2. Funds may also be used for approved trade schools,
business schools, beauty schools, etc. However, prior to
receiving the funds for such training, you must provide the
PSAA Board of Governors with complete details
regarding the name of school, the training to be pursued,
course(s) to be taken, and length of training. The board
will advise you if the course is approved for use of the
scholarship funds and its decision shall be final.
3. Your scholarship is not contingent on grades. However,
if for any reason you should leave school permanently,
any remaining funds would revert back to the PSAA
general scholarship fund. We must be promptly notified if
this does occur.
4. Your scholarship fund must be utilized completely
within one calendar year. Any funds remaining after this
time period will revert back to the PSAA general
scholarship fund. These funds will no longer be available
to you, and there will be no extension granted.
5. In the event that you receive other scholarship awards
for tuition or other charges, you are to advise the PSAA
Board of Governors so we may consider payment of this
award to you in such a manner as to assure the funds will
be used in support of your educational pursuits.
